These are examples of X server graphics with source code and compiled binaries included in the tar.gz archive. I dunno if the source will compile on todays systems like it did back in 2005 but I do know if you chmod 755 <binary> and press enter to keep executing the file until it runs because it WILL run its just a little flaky!
